Role: Associate, Law Enforcement Response Team
Location: San Jose OR Austin
Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000

Who We Are:

The Safety Team at X works to safeguard the user’s voice in balance with on and off-platform safety risks through policy enforcement that promotes trust in X. Areas of focus include privacy, government and law enforcement requests, and safety advocacy.

What You’ll Do:

X Safety seeks a goal-oriented, focused person to join our Law Enforcement Response Team to help keep our legal process operations organized and on track. You will focus on information requests from around the world. If you're detail-oriented, dedicated, analytical, and have a knack for managing multiple tasks efficiently, apply today!

  • You will handle global information requests, including document intake and processing.

  • You will work closely with Law Enforcement Response Team members in the U.S., EMEA and Singapore on prioritizing requests and ensuring consistency in the team’s operations.

  • You will continually improve processes for efficiency and consistency.

  • You will join on an on-call rotation, working closely with other members of the Safety team to provide timely responses to emergency requests from all over the world.

Experience in reviewing, documenting, and tracking legal requests is preferred. You will be responsible for supporting your team in making sure requests are processed and tracked in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.

    • Experience processing requests for user information, legal documents, or other relevant background experience in law or Safety.

    • At ease with providing clear and concise responses to time-sensitive requests

    • An excellent communicator, and will maintain open, thorough, and regular communication with teammates and cross-functional teams

    • Flexible and can adjust accordingly to ensure team efficiency and deliverables are met

    • Capable of spotting anomalies or unusual patterns in requests you handle

    • Attentive to detail, organized, and able to prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment even when they are sometimes monotonous

    • A keen decision maker, self motivated, and a team player

    • Comfortable with navigating ambiguous policy escalations

    • Take ownership of every task you take on and have pride in your work

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Extremely detail-oriented

  • Experience working with user information requests, legal documents, or a legal education

  • Exceptional communication and writing skills

  • Passion and enthusiasm for protecting user privacy and freedom of expression

  • Perseverance, determination, and grit; a stand out colleague

  • Ability to work on repetitive tasks

  • Availability to work on weekends. Schedule could include weekend coverage: Tuesday - Saturday, or Sunday - Thursday

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1+ years in a Safety or Legal Operations role at a tech company or as a paralegal, litigation support, or equivalent experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education / experience

  • Working proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese
